Advocacy Issues:
*New* Moms on the Move request examples of CL cuts: Minister Harry Bloy responded to Opposition questions in the Legislature yesterday (Wednesday, April 27th) by claiming that no one had been forced to move from a group home in BC “without their explicit choice” and that budgets had been increased, not cut. If you or a relative or someone you know has been forced to move from their group home into another placement that was not their first choice, please urgently contact Dawn Steele: dawns@telus.net
*New* BC’s Community Living Crisis: New website from the Community Living Action Group (CLAG). This is the group who hosted public forums on Community Living service cuts in Vancouver and Victoria over the past few months. See THE WEBSITE here.
*New* BCACL Questions the Minister’s Facts: Minister of Social Development Harry Bloy was questioned in the Legislature yesterday (Wednesday, April 27th) about his government’s insufficient funding of supports and services for people with disabilities and their families. See the whole story at THE BCACL WEBSITE.
