Securing the Future: personal and financial planning for families This is your last chance to register, registration closes on Monday April 25th at 5 PM. Our morning session will answer your questions about trusts, choosing executors and guardians and the importance of planning your will. This workshop will better prepare you to update or write your will. In the afternoon we will be looking at Supported Decision Making with an emphasis on Representation Agreements: Learn more about this powerful legal tool that allows people (ages 19 and over) to designate others to represent them in their daily financial affairs and health care needs.
WHEN: Saturday April 30th - Wills and Trusts and Supported Decision Making, 10 AM – 3 PM

The Vancouver East chapter of the “Parents of Youth with Disabilites in Transition” group is now in full swing! This is an information, networking and support group for parents of youth with disabilities who are transitioning to adulthood (grades 10, 11, 12). Hosted by families who have ‘been there, done that!’ There is also limited space available with a youth leader for childcare.

*NEW* Inclusive education: There has been an attack on inclusive education and the rights of students with disabilities to be present in typical classrooms in the media recently. The BCACL claims the recent articles are offensively-titled assaults on a vulnerable group that has historically and systematically been stripped of their human rights. Register for summer camps now! Please find below two of the many camps that are specifically for children and youth with disabilities, however many typical camps are inclusive. You should contact the summer camp of your choice to find out their inclusion policies.
BC Easter Seals Camps Registration is open now! BC Easter Seals Camps provide free overnight summer camping experiences for children and teens with physical and/or mental disabilities throughout British Columbia. Check out the camp dates HERE.
