The Advocacy Committee works to promote access and inclusion in Burnaby, British Columbia and beyond. We raise awareness and provide information to government regulators and businesses including The City of Burnaby and Translink. New members are welcomed. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, May 28th.

Romance, Relationships and Rights: A Community Creation
This theatre performance is co-created by and with self advocates supported by the Community Living Society and based on research from the UBC Centre for Inclusion and Citizenship. Romance, Relationships and Rights confronts misconceptions about adults with intellectual disabilities and challenges audiences to think about how we respect and support everyone’s right to romance and intimate relationships. Theatre Terrific Presents: Hello
Theatre Terrific’s Hello is adapted from the true story of Daniel Miller, son of playwright Arthur Miller and is presented by an all abilities cast. Daniel never lived with his family. Instead, he was shut away in an overcrowded, understaffed institution. HELLO is a work of intimate family discovery through the eyes of Daniel. There is singing, dancing, family feuds, friends, food, and furniture moving, all woven together with moments of astounding truth paired with equally astounding denial.
