ASD Research Initiative: The provincial government has announced funding for a pilot program to provide coaching for parents of children at risk of autism spectrum disorder. The program will be studied to see if this type of early intervention improves long term outcomes. The approach has particular promise for children in under served areas of the province. CanAssist: This University of Victoria based program provides customized technologies and software so that all people have the opportunity to participate, contribute and reach their full potential. Their services are available to people in the Metro Vancouver area. Particularly check out their apps which are free to download.
